Letting Musicians Dojo Guide You
When I created this site, I had one thing in mind: serve the online musician’s community. And although I commonly teach the technical aspects to guitar playing and the such to students in person, I actually wanted to create a concentrated channel somewhere to enlighten the musical public of the more psychological and emotional aspects to playing. Now mind you, there are many resources that give technical tips – tablature for guitar techniques, exercises, scales, chords, and even links to gear you can buy. But there are already so many of these resources online, they are not hard to find, and many of the sources do a great job at teaching these things. My intentions with this blog are to offer all beginning and intermediate guitar, bass, drum, piano, (etc) players my views on the psychological and emotional power that comes with creating music and what it takes to do it from the heart. After all, what good are the technical lessons if the student is not fully motivated and prepared to properly continue what they are learning?
I’ve met a lot of people who’ve tried to learn an instrument but could never stick with it because they didn’t know how to put their heart enough into it to keep actual interest in staying on their practice. Every time I heard stories from these people it made me sad to see that these people, with such deep visions of making something of their life and wanting to inspire others, knowing they have that actual ability in their heart, did not have the essential know-how to really emotionally wrap their wants around the idea of persistence. If they had, today, they would’ve reached out and touched hundreds of people with their playing. My aim is to fill this gap as much as I can to make it easier for other guitar teachers out there to get their students to follow through by helping to instill a deeper drive into them with these articles. Therefore, I recommend this site to each and every student learning an instrument, and I hope you do too.
In the near future, I do have plans to begin providing technical tips for the guitar, bass, and drums. After all, in the end, I do want the Dojo to be as widely useful in every way possible. A lot of these posts are simply my own views on being a musician in general, and I would rather not limit you to only opinions on the general natures of playing. A place like this would be of much more use if all aspects of learning music were implemented. However, seeing as this blog is new, I like the idea of starting things out on the most effective note possible. Afterward, the technical lessons will thus come in good time, when it is right and I have gotten the right kind of feedback to request these things.
If you happen to be reading this but you don’t play any instrument, you probably know somebody who is learning or advancing. They might be struggling with keeping their head in the game as a result of perhaps lessons becoming stale to them, or maybe they are drifting off into other things that are distracting them. Whatever the case may be, referring them to Musician’s Dojo just may be the thing to clear this up, and they might even thank you for showing them here.
Leave Some Comments
As much traffic that comes through here, I’m surprised how few comments this place recieves.
To be clear here, I am not concerned about comments for any hunger for attention on me. However, by leaving comments, I am able to know how useful my articles are to you. Comments are a vital way of letting me know what this blog is doing for you and what it might need improving or added. I want you invovled in this project so that it is better able to serve you better. The more feedback you give, the better Musician’s Dojo can develop and be of more use to you.

Hallo there. I got your link off AngstGoddess003’s LiveJournal, since I’m an avid fan of her story Wide Awake. This site is quite interesting, because it seems to serve more the mentality — dare I say soul? — of a musician, rather than the technical aspects of performance or learning, etc. I’m a pianist, and though music is my only passion (there is nothing in my life that I’ve really taken genuine joy in doing), high school has taken its horrible toll on me and my life, and so I’ve gotten into the habit of not practicing and letting my talent deteriorate. This is what bothers me the most. And moreover, I plan on going into pharmacy for college, when originally my life plan was to go into musical performance.
Lol, I dish my life for no apparent reason, it seems. Anyways, I’m wondering if this site is still being kept xD.

Thank you for the feedback. I’m glad my articles are able to help you contemplate that part of you. Feel free to keep an eye on this places via RSS or through one of the social bookmarking sites.
Yes, this site is still up and going, but because of certain family issues, I’ve had to postpone the latest few entries I’ve written. Thankfully, things are smoothing out so they should be up here very soon.
